Sour Grapes Necklace

Sour Grapes Necklace

This necklace was inspired by Aesop’s fable of the Fox and the Grapes. The fox tried to reach some grapes hanging from a vine, after failing to achieve his goal, walked away muttering “I bet they were sour anyway”.  Hence we have the common saying “Sour Grapes”

This Sterling silver piece features a locket surrounded by hand-formed grape leaves and vines with a cast brass twig and when opened reveals a beautiful grape agate stone. On the flip side is a hand etched image of the forlorn fox as he gazes at his desired quarry.

The 36 inch chain is festooned with several raven freshwater pearls and hand forged links.

A truly special, one of a kind piece.
