I’ve always liked the surprise of asymmetry. Whether it’s shape or color, there’s something satisfying about bringing disparate elements together and finding a way for them to feel like they belong.
These earrings started with a handful of bits and pieces on my bench—different colors, shapes, and little silver flowers—and the simple question I often ask myself: What if?
What if these went together? What if I tried this instead? What if the things that don’t seem to belong at first end up being exactly what makes a piece work?
I love that part of the process—the unexpected combinations, the little discoveries, and the moment when all those different elements finally come together.
Materials: Sterling silver, sapphires
Length: 1 1/8 inches from the tops of the ear wires
