These poppies are carved by hand from a flat sheet of sterling silver, with a deep blue London topaz tucked among the flowers. I loved the sculptural quality of the silver flowers, but when I brought this piece back to my bench for a second look, I decided it needed a little something more.
The London topaz turned out to be just the thing. Its deep blue color is a lovely contrast to the textured silver, and that little bit of sparkle brings the whole piece together.
